20th edition of the Harghita County Days
The 20th edition of the Harghita County Days, organized by the Harghita County Council in collaboration with civil institutions and organizations, will take place between 8–20 May, 2024.
The main purpose of Harghita County Days is to present the cultural values of Harghita County. Harghita County Days is build on Harghita County’s communities, cultural and natural heritage, and contemporary creativity.

2. XIX Transylvanian Dance Musicians’ Meeting

Open day: 11 May 2024-05-08The musicians’ meeting is the largest professional forum for Transylvanian folk dance musicians. More than 150 musicians participate. Professional programmes, lectures and round table discussions are expected during the multi-day event. On Saturday 11 May 2024, Saturday Open Day, anyone can visit the 19th Transylvanian Dance Musicians’ Meeting and participate in the performances, the gala and the dance after the closing show.

In May, Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda will once again become an inspiring and exciting cultural hub.
The UNSCENE – Festival of Universities of Arts will open its doors for the fourth time from 9-15 May to bring together students and their teachers from the theatre profession, with the participation of seven top Romanian higher education institutions. The festival offers students a meeting and showcase opportunity, and audiences a unique opportunity to watch high quality, provocative, fresh performances and discover the theatre and film talents of the next generation.

6. Renaissance dance workshop
13 May 2024, 18 -20pm,
Renaissance dance classes will also be held as part of the XX Harghita County Days.
András and Orsolya Ványolós will teach Renaissance dances in a workshop on Mondays between 18:00 and 20:00, except on school holidays and school vacations.

10. Csűrdöngölő Children and Youth Folk Dance Assembly

The Csűrdöngölő Children and Youth Folk Dance Assembly is a meeting of children and youth folk dance groups from the area of Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda. It has been organized annually by the András Foundation since 2001. The event is hosted by the Harghita National Szekler Folk Ensemble.
The event has grown into a movement, and every year nearly 46 children and youth folk dance groups, about 1300 children and young people, prepare for the event. It is a good opportunity to showcase their milestones of development; to meet similar groups; to acknowledge the fact that folk dance is the driving force behind countless communities.
11. 19th Traditional Pentecost Charity Role concert
17 May 2024, 19 pm, Miercurea Ciuc, Piața Libertății
A highlight of the Pentecost-related events is the Pentecost Role concert in Miercurea ciuc/Csíkszereda, which will be held for the 19th time this year. It will take place in the open air, after the Csűrdöngölő Children’s and Youth Folk Dance Assembly.
Donations raised at the concert will be used for charity.
